“Dying to Bloom” with Kerry Potter, September 25, 2014
It was a delight to speak live with this young woman from Rockland, NY last week. She is doing an awesome job hosting a radio show all about death. Her questions were great and I, of course, love to talk about home funeral and green burial. Let me know what you think!
Green Burial conference coming up fast! I’ve added a new ticket category with a reduced fee for “volunteers” and partial day attendance. I define volunteer pretty loosely! Let me know if you have questions.
The morning presentations include:
“The Big Picture: Environmental Impacts of Burial Choices” by Barbara Lucas, host and producer of the Green Room on WEMU and CTN
“Natural Cemetery Design – the Issues and the Opportunities” by Jack Goodnoe, Landscape Architect
A demo of “How to Wrap a Shroud,” by Mike Mitchell, Licensed Funeral Director.
The afternoon consists of an outside discussion and demonstration at a mock burial site and a Q & A with Panelists addressing the challenges they have faced in opening and developing a green cemetery.
The panelists are:
- Russ Burns, The Preserve at All Saints
- Dan Wagner, Marble Park and Milan Vault, Milan
- Mike Mitchell, Mitchell Funeral Home, Chelsea
- Amy Henricksen, Kokosing Nature Preserve Cemetery, OH
- Ellen MacDonald, Eloise Woods Natural Cemetery, Austin, TX
