“Talking about death is like talking about sex”

Here’s a great NPR spot on LaCrosse, WI, where 90% of adults have advanced directives. Read or listen. Last night on our Death Cafe Teleconference we talked about how to talk about death in our communities. We’ve experienced how our friends are afraid to mention death even at a funeral of a loved one. How can we bring it up in normal conversation? We all agree that it’s necessary to plan ahead, build community, talk to our family, write our wishes, etc. Someone has to start the conversation!
